Creating the classic “Win-Win” Situation…
A few years back, homeowners Alyssa and Bernie Braycewski decided to do improvements to their backyard consisting of a 1300 sq. ft. raised patio with a flagstone fire-pit. The raised patio included an outdoor kitchen with sink, built-in refrigerator and ice machine. Unfortunately, the project fell far behind schedule as it entered into month 6 and over budget. More alarming were issues developing due to improper workmanship performed by the contractor. Alyssa and Bernie decided to terminate the project and contractor.
he new few years they tried to enjoy the patio and improvements. However, problems continued to develop with water issues, severe cracking and settling. Eventually Alyssa and Bernie realized the problems needed to be corrected including the demolishing the raised patio. After interviewing contractors and visiting job-sites the couple awarded the contract to a local contractor. Within weeks “history started to repeat itself” with cost overruns and construction behind schedule. Bernie and Alyssa acted swiftly and once again terminated the project and contractor.
They contacted their neighbor and owner of ERNA Properties, Dave Seidenberg for advice on how and what to do to produce a successful project, on-time and under budget. After several meetings and discussions Bernie and Alyssa engaged ERNA PROPERTIES to get the job done and done right. At this point in time budget funds were tight and the summer was halfway over. Three and a half weeks later the couple was entertaining on their new patio and continued to entertain outside past labor day weekend. This classical “Win-Win” situation resulted in the neighbors friendship being closer than ever.
